Top 3 Things To Avoid On Your Wedding Day!

As a NH wedding photographer, and through my own experience as a bride, I have narrowed down the top 3 most important things to avoid on your wedding day to ensure that everything goes off without a hitch! Stress can run high on a wedding day if you are not prepared for complications. You want this to be the happiest most joy filled day of your life!

It is important to be flexible on your wedding because it is inevitable that some unknowns will present themselves that you will not be able to prepare for. However, the following 3 tips are avoidable issues that could possibly arise.

Avoid Being the “Go-To Decision Maker”

The morning of your wedding, give your phone to your Maid of Honor! Let her field all of the texts and calls as you just get pampered and dolled up! She can let you know when something comes up that you need to handle. Let her give directions, figure out why something didn’t get delivered on time, or decide on what shoes your mother is going to wear!

All of the little issues and questions that come up have the potential to add unnecessary stress to your day. Let your bridesmaids do all of the filtering and only involve you when it is absolutely vital!

Avoid Feeling Rushed

If you are an #ARaiBride, you receive a custom timeline hand crafted for you by ME! I know how long different parts of the wedding day take, and I always add wiggle room. Every timeline I create ensures that the bride will never feel rushed.

If it takes 10 minutes to do family portraits, double it on the timeline! Something always comes up. Maybe an aunt will be difficult to locate or maybe a niece will be crabby and need some extra time. You never know but it is best to be prepared.

Avoid Dehydration

If you read my Advice for Brides blog then you already know how I feel about this! Having a headache in the middle of your reception is for the birds! A good rule of thumb is to drink at least as much water as anything else you drink that day.

Mimosas, coffee, wine, champagne, vodka…you need water! Especially those summer brides who are also battling the heat. Most venues have pitchers of water ready for the bridal party, but if they do not, make sure you send somebody from your bridal party to ask for some. Have your Maid of Honor be ready to serve you water all day long!
