As I heard Molly and Justin talk about how they met, I couldn’t help but think of how similar it sounded to a romantic movie! Picture this, Molly was invited as a plus one to a wedding with her best friend. She had gotten dressed up and envisioned having a fun night celebrating her best friend’s cousin’s wedding. Once they arrived, Molly and her friend sat down with some of her friend’s family and Molly began to settle in. She didn’t know everyone at the table, but began making small talk while guests continued to arrive. Before long, Molly found herself spending a lot of time talking to one of her best friend’s cousin, his name was Justin. Justin told Molly that he lived in Boston, and by the end of the night, he had invited Molly to come visit him if she was ever in town. Maybe he thought it was a long shot, or maybe she would take him up on it. He hoped she would.

A while after the wedding ended, Molly was organizing an engagement party for her brother, and the party just so happened to be in Boston. Molly remembered the offer that Justin had made, and decided to reach out to Justin and see if he really meant what he said at the wedding. Sure enough, Justin answered and they arranged to get together. The real question was, was this going to be an official first date, or was it just a “catching up with a friend” date?

They decided to meet at Earls Diner at the Prudential Center. I don’t know about you, but a date at the prudential center sounds an awful lot like a first date, not “catching up with a friend”! Apparently that night went just right, because the relationship blossomed from that date on.

Fast forward in time, Molly and Justin had planned a trip to Cape Cod with some friends. It was October, a beautiful time of year in New England. What made it better was that the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous 70-degree day. Days like that are rare in October on the cape, so they decided to take full advantage of the beautiful weather and head to their favorite beach. As they were walking along enjoying the warm sand and listening to the sound of the waves roll onto the shore, Molly began to notice a few things…first, the group of friends that were with them had started walking away from her and Justin. Then, she noticed Justin starting acting a little odd. He was awkwardly picking up things off the sand and had started trying to make small talk with her. Whatever was going on, it wasn’t normal and she knew he was up to something. Sure enough, the next moment would be etched into her memory forever. Justin got down on one knee and asked the question that she had dreamed about since she was a little girl, “will you marry me!?”
